Saleena Bhoyroo

Lead Primary Consultant

My Story

Over a career spanning almost 20 years, Saleena maintained a decade of classroom delivery with varying roles in leadership from modern languages to science. She accumulated a wealth of knowledge in terms of ‘best practice’ with both neurotypical and neurodivergent children, implementing strategies with current information on neuroscience and its translation into the classroom.

Over the two decades she led the Griffin trust school Willowbrook to an outstanding rating by OFSTED. Her differential and passionate approach to education was recognised by the London authority of Redbridge, where she was asked to manage team teaching across various primary schools, consequently leading to the consultation of four schools under the Griffin Trust.

Across a number of trusts and their primary schools, Saleena has increased the SATs results as well as retraining key stage one teachers in the correct and proper delivery of phonics teaching, catapulting phonic screening results from a 30% pass rate to 82% in various schools. Additionally, she has led teaching assistant departments and headed their training in all aspects of education, curriculum design and classroom delivery across all phases. Saleena has delivered training for the Institute of Education accredited National Professional Qualification for Middle Leaders (NPQML) and completed five years on an international television channel as an educational consultant.

Currently Saleena is the lead educational consultant for the charity Mind Havering, and is leading five early years programs to support the national Mum’s Matter program to aid mothers suffering with post-natal depression, leading a team which covers Havering, Barking & Dagenham. She continues to help educational institutions excel in relation to phonics, literature and has centred her consultation around child psychology and helping children unveil literature through the study of the human condition.
